Applied Computer Science student at Karel De Grote Hogeschool.
Introduction
Hi, I’m Ahmad El Ouriaghli Abbas. I’m originally from Morocco, and at only seventeen years old, I moved alone to Belgium to pursue a future in IT. Right now, I’m in my second year of Applied Computer Science at Karel De Grote Hogeschool (KdG) in Antwerp.
I have a strong interest in programming, clean design, and working with databases. I’m constantly building my skills and pushing myself forward, step by step, to grow into a versatile IT professional.
I also love playing piano, travelling, listening to music and meeting new people. I'm open to any opportunities to better my IT skills, internships, or student IT jobs.
Outside of classes, I’m the kind of person who learns by building. I like taking small ideas, shipping them quickly, and then polishing until they feel right. Whether it’s a neat UI pattern, a JavaFX component, or a tidy database schema, I’m happiest when I can make something clearer and more useful than it was yesterday.
Moving from Morocco taught me resilience and curiosity. Antwerp has become my second home: I’m constantly discovering new corners of the city, new people, and new ways to grow. I’m also improving my Dutch day by day, and I love switching between English, French, and Arabic depending on who I’m with—it keeps life dynamic.
My next goals are simple: contribute to real projects, collaborate with driven people, and keep leveling up my engineering habits—clean code, meaningful commits, and thoughtful design. If you’re looking for a motivated student to help on something that matters, I’d love to talk.
While I enjoy programming and design, I find myself especially drawn to system administration and infrastructure. I like digging into how things work under the hood—whether it’s configuring servers, managing networks, or making sure operating systems run smoothly.
I find satisfaction in building environments that are reliable, secure, and easy to maintain, because they form the backbone that everything else depends on. For me, it’s not just about keeping systems online, but about making them more efficient, scalable, and resilient.
I’m eager to grow my skills in this direction and eventually take on roles where I can bridge the gap between software development and IT infrastructure, ensuring both sides work seamlessly together.
